Trail, B.C., is a proven success with the Communities in Bloom program and now it’s ready to bring another sort of gardening to its downtown. IncrEDIBLE Trail, a new initiative, will see vegetables and herbs grown throughout the downtown, including in front of businesses. The produce will be available for anyone who wants to pick and enjoy it.

Gina Ironmonger has been working on an edible landscaping initiative. She said local businesses would buy in and tend to their own outdoor garden box. She said so far the support from the business community has been positive. -EZ Rock News

The project was inspired by a similar British initiative. Trail will take advantage of its excellent growing conditions and is aiming to have the non-permanent planters available for spring planting.
