Rick Daniels and his wife, Stephanie, had been installing landscape curbing for six years when they decided to add to their professional repertoire. Their Cranbrook business, Grizzly Ridge Stone, is the result of their expansion into architectural stone veneer work—enhancing the appearance of homes in a creative way.

“Architectural stone, also known as manufactured stone, has rapidly become a very popular alternative to natural stone,” Rick said. “With the advancement of technology, people can take advantage of new stone veneers and products to enhance their residences, their business and even their landscaping.”

The sky's the limit

Architectural stone can be manufactured in a range of colours and styles to duplicate the subtle variations found in natural stone. It is also lighter, and therefore much more easily installed. Grizzly Ridge currently manufactures 11 different styles of stone veneer, which can be combined in different ways to customize the appearance of the project.

“(We are proud to see) how well our products have been received by both installers and home owners,” said Rick. “We have been told by two different—very experienced—installers, that our stone is the best they have worked with or have said it is the closest to the look of real stone they have ever seen.”

Continuing to grow

Grizzly Ridge Stone has also expanded its product line to include one-piece fireplace hearths, vertical columns and mantles. Projects are customized to suit individual fireplace measurements, and the company is now looking into the production of mantles with attractive built-in lights.

Grizzly Ridge Stone is located at 4686 - 34th Avenue South, Cranbrook, B.C.
