Tucked away in the friendly town of Kimberley, Alpen Café and Guesthouse is run by Jason Truscott and his partner, Sofie Pettersson. The guest house offers comfortable, reasonably priced B&B accommodations and a coffee shop that serves certified organic coffee and quality meals in a relaxed setting.

“(We are) centrally located with the best tasting coffees and muffins in Kimberley,” said Truscott, “along with friendly service and a European-inspired breakfast and lunch menu with dishes made fresh each and every time.”

Truscott and Pettersson take enormous pride in their beautifully renovated rooms, and their ability to make each and every customer feel at home.

“The most rewarding aspect has been making so many wonderful friends through the social aspect of a business like ours, in such an active, friendly town like Kimberley,” said Truscott.

Both partners have a solid background in the hospitality industry. Truscott has had 13 years of experience working in five-star hotels, and was chef concierge for the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Pettersson spent several years working for Caffe Nero, the U.K.’s largest independent coffee retailer.

“People may have driven by wondering what we’re like,” said Truscott. “Stop. Come in. You will not be sorry!”

Alpen Café and Guesthouse is open from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
