Decorate with culture
Te Papa Nui Antiques will have you enamoured with a grand selection of worldly treasures
Elizabeth and Joe Klein have owned Te Papa Nui Antiques in Invermere for nearly seven years. The couple came all the way from Glasglow, Scotland, in 1980—and along the way they collected all kinds of antiques and other treasures over the course of their travels.
It was only natural to set up a store where they could share the bounty of their international adventures with their customers. They called that store Te Papa Nui Antiques, a name taken from the New Zealand Maori phrase meaning, “our big place.” They still traverse the world regularly in the pursuit of adventure and quality items that they can sell for reasonable prices.
“(We enjoy) meeting different people, making new friends (and) seeing how people enjoy the pieces they buy,” said Elizabeth Klein. “(There are) not many large antique warehouses like ours in western Canada—we are one of the biggest.”
Aiming to please
The Kleins are accommodating to their customers, and will try to find any specific pieces that are requested. Their store showcases furniture of all varieties, architectural items, decorative accents and collectibles.
“(Our products are) good quality, well priced and (we have a) big selection,” said Klein.
The company website is also very well put together, with items pictured throughout along with listings that describe their origins and sizes. Anyone looking for a gorgeous, culturally rich item to dress up their home should definitely make a stop at this extraordinary business.
Te Papa Nui Antiques is located at Unit 6, 1340 Industrial Road, Invermere, B.C.
