A true artist is always in high demand, especially one who can capture life's most beautiful and memorable moments. Carmen Adams is that kind of artist. Her business, Fresh Photography, is the result of many years of hard work and the continual development of her talent. A Best of Business gold award winner, Adams has been welcomed warmly into the Rossland community.

“My husband and I emigrated from Vancouver three years ago in search of a desirable community to raise our little family,” said Adams. “I have been an on-location photographer, photographing boutique weddings, events, families and children until this point. Working exclusively on location has been a challenge but I will soon be introducing a designer studio space, a timely option for upcoming seasons.”

The subject matter of the photography is as diverse as the interests of the photographer. Adams takes photos of people and other interesting subjects in all situations—but she has a special knack for covering weddings. In addition to Fresh, which has been featured on numerous bridal sites, she also publishes Kootenay Wedding—a site packed with tips and ideas for the perfect customized Kootenay wedding.

Customized settings

Adams uses different props and scenes when staging her photos. Spontaneity works in her favour, and she isn't afraid to get a bit creative when she sets up environments for each individual client.

“Fresh Photography offers stylish captures for modern love stories.  We formulate unique wedding plans—styling with vintage furniture set in unusual locations—while still embracing spontaneity,” she said. “Whether that be ducking into a swanky hair studio, cozy cottage, or borrowing a Great Dane off the street, clients can reasonably expect all things fun, funky and decidedly Fresh.”

Into every masterpiece that she adds to her portfolio, Adams infuses her personality and enthusiasm. Clearly doing what she loves, this photographer puts her whole heart into her work.

“I'm an urban girl shooting and raising a family in a rural landscape,” she said. “(I'm) a sucker for stop-motion, eHarmony commercials and all things pretty. I love chocolate for breakfast; old things and new coffee shops; campfires and hotels equally—I'm blessed with passion!  I like to capture hearts, wide open; hopefully that is you!”
