Head to WD Sheet Metal in Grand Forks and you'll find the business's 20-some staff conducting the many services provided by the company. There are several divisions of WD Sheet Metal, including Striker Industries, WD HVAC & Refrigeration, WD Furnace & Duct Cleaning and Sagamore RV & Mini Storage. Overall, the company provides many necessities required by home and business owners, such as furnace and duct cleaning, plumbing installation and service and air conditioning installation and service.

Owner Warren Dunbar arrived in the West Kootenay in the early '90s, attracted to the laid-back lifestyle. He said that running a business takes much dedication and finding the right staff is a lengthy process, but that simple principles have led to the business's 17 years of success. A strong team of employees and enjoying one's work are the keys to prosperity.

"(It's) hard work and honesty," he said.
