Chris Taylor and Rob Bremner bought Farbrook Auto Wrecking Ltd. in Cranbrook  in 1991, and in 1995 a change to the city zoning put a tight lid on any plans the partners might have had for expansion. Taylor became the sole owner of the business in 2001.

Taylor said that one thing he’s learned from operating the salvage business in Cranbrook is the virtue of patience. He would like to make some additions to his operations to allow for safer and more efficient disposal of pollutants, but present zoning rules prohibit any physical growth of the business.

“I had a positive meeting with Mayor Stetski this morning, and he’s promised to try to help,” Taylor said.
