A longstanding business has recently made its mark on the digital world. Moraine Recreation Consulting's website recently went live and can be seen here.

Owner Heather Smith has been a west Kootenay resident for much of her life, and is a graduate of the Wildland Recreation Program at Selkirk College. She worked for the Ministry of Forests before starting her own business in 1997. Moraine Recreation Consulting specializes in many aspects of recreation management, including inventories, mapping and interpretive design.

“It’s all about doing something I’m passionate about while respecting the environment and feeling good about what I do," said Smith. "It’s a lifestyle choice.”
