Subway in Sparwood

by Lisa Crane

Sparwood has somewhere new to grab a bite to eat. A Subway was recently opened by a Calgary couple, Ravi and Aman Matharoo. Ravi said that they moved to the area to take advantage of a wonderful opportunity to set up in a town like Sparwood.

The Matharoos, who previously owned a Subway eatery in Calgary for 18 months, were drawn to Sparwood's friendly people, peacefulness and fabuous views.

“It is a great town to be in,” said Ravi.

He said the adjustment of living in a small town wasn't a problem.

“Perhaps it is because I love nature, and there is so much of it here in the Kootenays,” said Ravi.

Sparwood Subway is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.

"Come by and visit,” said Ravi.
