From their location on the Columbia Valley Wetlands, Dale and Athena Hunt were inspired to create Kootenay Bayou Hot Sauce. The Hunts attend farmers markets in Radium Hot Springs, Invermere and Fairmont Hot Springs, and are in the process of expanding on a national level.

Recently their sauces became commercially available in stores. You can find Kootenay Bayou products at Arrowhead Brewing Co. and the Trading Post in Invermere, From Scratch restaurant in Fairmont Hot Springs, and served on every table at Back Country Jack’s in Radium Hot Springs. Unlike most hot sauces, which are created using vinegar and hot peppers, Kootenay Bayou incorporates fresh fruits and vegetables into each recipe.
