In November 2018, Heather Lang, a registered dental hygienist, opened Root 93 Dental Centre on Highway 93 in Invermere. Lang wants to provide improved access to dental care for the underserviced area, because, she said, “Oral health care and oral wellness are part of total wellness.” Preventive dental hygiene service can minimize the need for more complex dental procedures. Dr. Shane Van Biezen, owner of the Golden Dental Centre, now offers his services part-time at Root 93, as does Dr. Jim Guild. “We’re part of the team who help you have optimal overall health,” Lang said.
