One World Law Group is a new law firm owned by lawyer Amber van Drielen to serve residents of Golden, B.C. and neighbouring communities.

Opening in February of this year, One World Law Group is a general law practice. Van Drielen hopes to provide legal services in a variety of areas, including including family, elder, wills and estates as well as employment. However, van Drielen says she finds most of the demand so far is in family matters.

“For family matters, I like to stay out of court whenever possible,” said van Drielen. “I will represent clients in provincial family court. This is a lower level of family court that I appreciate because there is a focus on resolving legal disputes quickly and without the financial burden to the client that Supreme Court may impose.”

Van Drielen brings a background of working with the non-profit sector and low income persons and said she will always work with a client to help resolve his/her legal issues in the most cost-effective manner possible.

Returning from Vancouver to her hometown of Golden, van Drielen is excited about how her new law firm is developing. Certainly there have been many changes and challenges, but One World Law Group looks forward to a positive future.

“Basically, I just hope to run/operate a law firm that is caring, cost-effective, high quality and helpful for people trying to resolve legal conflicts—particularly in the areas of family and elder law,” said van Drielen.
