Dr. David Marion and his wife, Debbie—who are the owners of A Country Animal Hospital in Eureka, Montana—have opened a new veterinary clinic in Fernie.

The new clinic is currently open part time and it offers vaccines, exams and basic services. Dr. David and Debbie are waiting for approval from the B.C. Veterinary Board to expand their services at the Fernie clinic, and they expect to hear back from the board by the end of June.

For the time being, pets in the Elk Valley that require surgery can be transferred to A Country Animal Hospital in Eureka. Dr. David and Debbie have made arrangements with the port of entry in Roosville, Montana, to offer a convenient shuttle service from Fernie to their full-service animal hospital in Eureka.

In addition to dogs and cats, Dr. David and Debbie are offering equine services in Fernie, and Debbie said that they are looking for another vet with cattle experience to work at the Fernie clinic.

Country Vet Fernie is located on 7th Avenue in what used to be the Fernie Sports building. It will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 4 pm. See the website for more information.
