Maybe you're interested in getting your commercial, private or recreational pilot's license. Maybe you've always wanted to see the stunning West Kootenay countryside via the sky, or are looking to show off the landscape to guests in a memorable style. Whatever your reason for wanting to board a plane, Kootenay Lake Aviation can assist you.

This new flight school and sightseeing business is operated by Thierry Noblet, an experienced pilot who has more than a decade's worth of flying experience in a wide variety of aircraft. It is located in Nelson, and all sightseeing flights depart from the Nelson airport. The tours can be half-hour flight over Kootenay lake to an afternoon spent in the air, flying over the Purcell Mountains and Bugaboo Provincial Park.

Costs and program lengths to earn a pilot's license vary depending on the type of license. Kootenay Lake Aviation flies a Cessna 172, a plane well-suited for flight training.
