Explore river rapids

John Dutton wants both residents and visitors in Nelson to discover the adventures available in the immediate vicinity. He has opened the Nelson Whitewater Rafting Company, a business that offers tours of the Slocan and Salmo rivers.

The tours appeal to those looking for gentler rapids and those looking for a more extreme ride. Beginning riders can travel the Faschina Rapids Run or take a float tour of the Slocan River. Advanced riders can travel through the Shenango Canyon section of the Salmo River, with class three and four rapids. Transportation is provided to and from downtown Nelson and all necessary safety, thermal and rafting gear is provided.

Dutton has extensive experience in the hospitality industry. He has a diploma in hospitality management, a bachelors degree of commerce in entrepreneurship and certification as a raft guide examiner. He has worked in New Zealand and Alberta as well as B.C.

To book an tour or find out more, check out the Nelson Whitewater Rafting Company’s website or call 250-505-2689.
