Embrace tradition

Dakota Brant opened Tribal Memories in Golden, B.C., this spring, providing customers with traditional handcrafted items.

A member of the Six Nations in Brantford, Ontario, Brant was delighted by the Golden community and wanted to share a piece of his heritage with locals and visitors. His shop is stocked with paintings, carvings, beadwork and other traditional First Nations artwork that Brant has created himself. He also does commissioned art pieces and offers workshops at which he teaches others how to make items such as moccasins and dreamcatchers. For more information call 250-344-4774 or visit Tribal Memories at 501 - 9th Avenue North in Golden.
