Eclipse Helicopters, founded in 1993 in Penticton, B.C., was sold to Derek Robinson in 2014 and expanded to Cranbrook in 2015. The branch employs four full-time pilots and is managed by Duncan and Cindi McNabb. Duncan is a pilot and Cindi is the office manager. Along with a fixed-wing aircraft owned by sister company ELT Aviation, Eclipse typically has one helicopter on site. During the fire season of 2017, two additional helicopters from the Penticton base joined the Cranbrook-based fire-fighting effort. Services provided by the company support fire suppression, resource development, tourism and medical transport.
