Dee Dee Lapawa is the owner of the newest pub in Cranbrook, B.C. Her partner, Billy Stanton, has enthusiastically taken the reigns as general manager.

His hotel and bar management history is extensive, in both his hometown of Cranbrook and in Grande Prairie, Alberta, leaving him confident in the success of the pub.

“The whole inside is totally brand new,” Stanton said, as he explained his ideas for renovations to the outside starting this spring. Those plans include residing the building, changing the parking lot landscape and adding a patio to the front of the pub.

Stanton also plays in a band, and believes the music will set Dee Dee Magee’s apart.

“If it isn’t live, it isn’t happening. That’s our slogan”, he said. “Our big coup here other than the entertainment is that we open every day at noon, and the food is amazing. The kitchen’s totally rebuilt.”

Dee Dee Magee’s Pub opened its doors to the public just in time for the holidays in December, and can be found in the old Finnegan’s Wake location on the Strip in Cranbrook.
