Christina Lake goes vegan

by

Christina Lake has seen the addition of Ravenous, a vegan café that also offers takeout.

Mother and daughter Sharyn and Tess Noren co-own Ravenous along with their husbands. Last winter they purchased a space that formerly housed a bakery and recently opened for business. The goal is to provide healthy vegan dishes (organic when possible) to a community that was previously lacking this specialized dining option. The restaurant features biodegradable packaging—without plastic or styrofoam containers being used—and the staff cook with locally sourced ingredients as often as possible. There are plans to offer an evening menu throughout the summer, with the potential for shorter hours during the off season. You can stop by Ravenous at 1875 Bakery Frontage Road in Christina Lake, or call 250-666-0510 for more information.
