This fall, Beanpod Chocolate in Fernie became a finalist in the Canadian section of the International Chocolate Awards.

Expert judges at the national awards in Vancouver determined Beanpod’s Fernie Lavender Bar to be Canada’s sole representative in the dark chocolate categories of the international awards. Owner and master chocolatier, Mary Heavey, has honed her trade to a level of excellence, importing rare cacao beans directly from farmers and using traditional European techniques and equipment.
