Breathe easy

Balanced Physiotherapy is a home-based physiotherapy clinic in Nelson, owned by Jessica DeMars. DeMars is a physiotherapist and practitioner of the BradCliff Method, a breathing disorder treatment originating in New Zealand. DeMars performs breathing assessments, such as computer diagnostics to measure carbon dioxide output. If a breathing pattern disorder is diagnosed, DeMars can help relearn breathing patterns before moving on to other rehabilitation.

“If you can’t breathe well, you can’t be well,” said DeMars. “Breathing changes so easily—with emotions, stress, pain, illness, even hormones can affect breathing. A poor breathing pattern can lead to things like headaches, chronic pain, anxiety, breathlessness, abdominal discomfort and muscle spasms.”

Balanced Physiotherapy is located at 49 View Street. DeMars takes appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and can be contacted at 250-551-9640 or [email protected].
