Kris Koop has always loved animals. He grew up in Vanderhoof, B.C., and moved to Castlegar sight unseen when he was offered the opportunity to open a pet store there in 2009. He fell in love with the area and its people and has never regretted the move. Koop opened his own store, the Blue Barn Pet & Hobby Farm, in June 2016. The store is getting rave reviews for its customer service along with its variety of pet foods, toys and supplies. Video clips of the “business” of ferrets on Blue Barn’s Facebook page are the best!
