Chris Nicholson, owner of Black Bear Tree Care in Fernie, is more than just a guy with a chainsaw. He’s a tree-loving arborist who obtained his training at home in England. He has Royal Horticultural Society and International Society of Arborists qualifications, as well as several years of experience working in Calgary for Davey Tree Experts. Nicholson opened Black Bear Tree Care in June 2016, specializing in tree health rather than default removal. He said that besides being beautiful, trees produce oxygen, absorb carbon, prevent erosion and support our health and quality of life.
