Accepting the challenge

Kathy Cooper, long-time team member at Kootenay Rockies Tourism, is the newly appointed CEO of the organization.

Cooper was the interim managing director since November 2012, and she is also a member of the recently formed Tourism Marketing Committee for British Columbia. She has filled a number of other roles at Kootenay Rockies Tourism over the past 26 years, working in media relations, advertising, travel trade and other sectors.

This appointment follows the retirement of former CEO Chris Dadson.

Cooper is enthusiastic about the future, and plans to lead the Kootenay Rockies team in boosting tourism for the region. To find out more, visit the Kootenay Rockies Tourism website.
