Danielle Kozak had been running a licensed family daycare out of her Castlegar home for five years, but she had a long-standing dream to open a preschool as well. She went back to school, obtained the required credentials and proceeded to realize her dream. With the help of some dedicated individuals, she was able to combine the daycare with her new preschool and house them under the same roof. In September of this year, Kozak opened the doors to her brand new daycare and preschool centre, Silly Monkeys Childcare.

“We offer a play-based preschool program three mornings a week, but hope to expand as enrollment grows,” said Kozak. “We also offer daycare for zero to school age. We have 12 spaces in the infant/toddler room and 16 spaces in the three to five room. We offer extended hours in the morning and hope to be able to offer extended hours in the evening as staffing allows. We have two fully enclosed age-appropriate outdoor play spaces.”
