40 Years of history

by

In early June, the Golden and District Historical Society extended an invitation to the community to celebrate the Golden Museum's 40th anniversary.

Opened to the public on June 1, 1974, the facility has been expanded on continually since then. An old log school house was painstakingly relocated onto the museum grounds from Brisco in 1982, and renovated to replicate its original glory. A CPR station has also been incorporated on site, as well as a riverboat display and other fascinating historical exhibits.

Most recently, there have been upgrades in progress to renovate the outdoor exhibit building, so be sure to stop by next time you're in Golden, and embrace the local heritage.
