Cristina Baldini
More opportunity and the slower pace of life brought one of Rossland’s top property managers to the area
Attracted by the slower pace of life, Cristina Baldini found her way from Vancouver Island to the West Kootenay town of Rossland in 2014. Since then, she has become a sole proprietor, working as a licensed property manager for Mountain Town Properties. One of the best at what she does, Baldini displays an impressive level of professionalism and dedication to her clients and the industry.
How did you come to choose this line of work?
I have worked in the accommodation sector for over 20 years. I wanted a change from hotels and to still be able to work hands-on with people.
What is it about your work that has you excited to get out of bed in the morning?
Every day is new and challenging. I am excited to meet new people and learn new things. This business gives me that opportunity.
What’s your focus for 2016?
To attend at least one industry conference, start volunteering with youth and increase sales for 2016-2017 by 10 per cent.
Why did you decide to become an entrepreneur in the Kootenays?
It was time for a change from the hotel industry and Vancouver Island. The lifestyle here seems similar but with more opportunity and a slower pace.
