Story & Co.—which started out years ago as Driven Media—has a motto: make good stories great. That is exactly what the Kimberley-based company did for Tourism Golden, whose website is decidedly a cut above the rest. The Tourism Golden website was among the winners in Kootenay Business's new DigiTech Awards.

Matt Thompson, principal of Story & Co., sat down with Kootenay Business to answer a few questions.

How did you end up designing the Tourism Golden website?
We worked with Toursim Golden to strengthen and develop Golden's tourism brand, and the website was one of the tools we created to help them tell their stories best.

How many devices do you own?
Coffee grinder, blender, Shop-Vac, avalanche beacon and broccoli rubber band

What is your smartphone of choice?
Apple

Think like a user.

What are some tech trends that you see for the Kootenays in 2013?
The true value of QR codes; social media will be discovered; and folks will start a five-digital revolution by waving at each other in the street!
