Quiniscoe Homes, owned and operated by Dave and Doris Penner from their offices in Invermere, British Columbia, is showing builders in the rest of B.C.
how it’s done. The small residential building firm is passionate about building exceptional, healthy homes, and soon the entire province will know thanks to the Georgie Awards. The awards program today announced its finalists, marking the kickoff for the highly anticipated Georgie season that culminates in the gala of the year come springtime.

The premier housing event for the province, the Georgies recognize the best of the best in residential home construction, renovation, design, development and sales/marketing. Industry watchers and consumers alike look for the Georgie Award® seal when reviewing new home construction, as there is no recognition more respected in distinguishing top-quality construction.

And Quiniscoe Homes has the chance win several of the coveted awards—it has been made a finalist 10 times in eight different categories, the only builder from the Windermere Valley to place in building and design categories.

Quiniscoe Homes is a finalist in the following categories:

  • Best Single Family Detached Home $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 for its project “Stealth”
  • Best Single Family Detached Home over $2,000,000 for its project “Villa Gran Sasso”
  • Best Kitchen under $40,000 for its project “Stealth”
  • Best Kitchen $40,000 to $100,000 for its project “Villa Gran Sasso”
  • Best Master Suite for its project “Stealth”
  • Best Interior Design Custom Residence for its project “Villa Gran Sasso”
  • Best Innovative Feature for its project “Villa Gran Sasso”
  • Best Innovative Feature for its project “Stealth--Connection”
  • Best Innovative Feature for its project “Stealth--Garden”
  • Best Outdoor Living Space for its project “Stealth”
  • Custom Home Builder of the Year

“Quiniscoe Homes will be competing for 10 Georgie Awards® against builders from the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and Whistler—Quiniscoe has proven that high-end design and sophisticated homes aren’t just for the city,” said Scott Whitemarsh, executive producer of the Georgie Awards® program. “Quiniscoe Homes’ two projects, Stealth and Villa Gran Sasso in Panorama, B.C., which have sweeped the finalist round, thoroughly impressed our judging panel with their rustic luxury look, making it one of the most shortlisted B.C. builders this year.”

Finalists in all categories were selected from hundreds of entries by a judging panel made up of industry experts brought in from outside the province to ensure impartiality.

Awards are being presented in 43 categories this year, and the finalists prove why B.C.’s residential construction industry is the best and most innovative in Canada. Two new categories were added this year: Best Outdoor Living Space (in which Quiniscoe was shortlisted) and Best Condo Renovation, to reflect what’s happening in the industry. More people are seeking outdoor living rooms in which to retreat from the daily hustle and bustle, and sales of older condos are rising, as are renovations of those homes.

Another Invermere-based firm, Rohit Communities, is a finalist in several sales/marketing categories for its Copper Point Resort project, including Best Logo, Best Brochure, Best Advertising Campaign, Best Project-Specific Website and Marketing Campaign of the Year.
