We talked to a few business owners in Cranbrook about the vehicles they drive, their very first vehicles, and the vehicles they dream of having.

Rick Klassen of Kootenay Granite:

Current vehicle: a one-ton GMC pickup truck
First car: a sporty Datsun B210
Dream vehicle: “All practical considerations aside, I like the 2013 Cadillac CTS. I’ve never even had a test-drive, but I like that it’s big and classy.”

Megan Lescanec of Bumble Tree:

Current vehicle: a 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan, perfect for carrying kids and perfect for the business
First vehicle: “I saved up my babysitting money and found a car I could afford—a used 1988 Hyundai Excel. My boyfriend—now my husband—kept it running for me for years.”
Dream vehicle: a new Jeep Wrangler

Anne Terpsma of Trends ’n‘ Treasures:

Current vehicle: a Dodge Caravan; it’s very practical for her business
First vehicle: “I traded one of my horses and a saddle to my sister for a Chrysler New Yorker. Man, that thing could fly!”
Dream car: a Dodge Viper. “You said I could dream.”

Joey Hoechsmann of The Bedroom Furniture Galleries:

Current vehicle: a Toyota FJ Cruiser
First vehicle: a Ford F250 four-speed pickup. “It was my dad’s, and he was nice enough to let me have it when I got to the age when I could drive it.”
Dream vehicle: an Audi R8 Spyder
