Just when you thought you knew where you were going at the College of the Rockies Cranbrook Main Campus, everything is going to change. As a result of the construction of the new south entrance and the subsequent move of front-of-house personnel into this new space in late August, there will be extensive interior renovations as departments are reconfigured. During the renovations, which are scheduled from May 1 through July 31, 2010, several departments will be relocating to temporary quarters in Summit Hall.

These include International Education, Student Services, Admissions/Registration, Continuing Education, Financial Aid, Room Bookings and Invigilation, Communications and Marketing, Production Support Centre and Reception.

Director of facilities Serge Lacroix said, “We will have plenty of signage to direct people to these temporary relocations. Some hallways will be blocked off as a safety measure but detours will be clearly marked.”

The Administration wing, which includes the President’s Office, Deanery, Department Head offices, Boardroom and Human Resources, will not be affected.

“The departmental relocations will begin with International Education during the week of April 16 and progress through to April 29, with Reception being the last to move to Summit Hall,” Lacroix continued. “We have scheduled this work during the summer which will least disrupt the majority of our students. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and ask the public to be patient with us during our growing pains.”
