The Village of Kaslo, B.C., lies along the shore of the west arm of Kootenay Lake, in a narrow, blue-green valley. The beauty of its location prompts some visitors to liken it to villages in the Swiss alps. Kaslo’s economy was first supported by forestry, but now tourism is its main economic driver. An abundance of winter and summer activities and events draw large numbers of tourists to Kaslo, adding dynamic energy to the community as well as an economic boost.
