Business and life partners Robert and Saskia Nestman have officially been in business for a year. Their company, Freeline Studio, is located in Nelson and shows off the couple’s talents for design and carpentry.

They specialize in building, refurbishing and refinishing solid wood furniture, as well as creating functional art pieces and wood accessories. Their furniture line can be seen in galleries across Western Canada, and they have a knack for emphasizing wood textures with elegant, modern designs. The Nestmans pride themselves on their eco-friendly approach, sourcing wood locally from the FSC-certified Harrop Procter Community Forest and Dave Johnson’s Mill Creek Enterprises, and refusing to use toxic chemicals in their refinishing processes.
