On May 14, the St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino in Cranbrook saw the proud unveiling of its new pavilion.

The opening ceremony was attended by First Nations representatives from all over Canada, as well as other key members of the community. The event included performances by First Nations youths from the Bloodline Drum Group, a prayer by Dorothy Alpine and speeches given by Chief Cheryl Casimer of the Aqam/St. Mary's First Nation, Jennifer Osmar (constituency assistant for Bill Bennett) and other important figures. Country musician Shane Yellowbird wrapped up the evening with a stellar performance.

The pavilion will draw more people to St. Eugene, and will no doubt become a favourite venue for banquets, festivals and other events.
