Wade Boardman does the administrative portion of his business from his home, located on Highway 95A near Cranbrook. He opened his business, W. Boardman Exteriors, in 2003.

We met with Boardman at his recently completed project, the show home for Elizabeth Ridge, a new project of New Dawn Developments.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?

It’s really rewarding to work with the developers and homeowners. It’s a nice feeling to be able to take their vision of what they want their house to look like and bring it to fruition for them. Another thing that stands out to me is my involvement with a community project arranged by Living-Stones Developments, a few years ago. We all worked together and built a new home for a young widow. That's something I’ll never forget.

Outside of work, what do you do for fun?

I like to spend time with my family outdoors, hiking, camping, boating—just having a good time. I’m a pretty laid-back guy, and what you see is what you get with me.

What do you think is the main reason for your success?

There are a couple of things. I take pride in my work and the finished project—I don’t ever want a client to be disappointed with the exterior of their home, so I treat each one as if it were my own. I also have some great employees, and I owe a lot of thanks to Cory, Tom, Dustin and Ross.
