Whether you’re planning an intimate dinner for 15 or an elaborate celebration for 500, Kim's Creations will create an event that you and your guests will never forget. Kim's Creations offers imaginative catering menus, logistical support and original cutting-edge service. The owner, Kim Clark, takes pride in using organic, sustainable food from local vendors and bringing these components together in dishes that are both delicious and beautiful to behold. Clark said she will cater anything from business functions to weddings. She said she assembles the freshest and finest seasonal ingredients and presents them with flair and beauty.

Why did you get into the catering business?

It sort of found me. Cooking has always been my passion—I love it. How I got started? Someone asked me to cater a lunch, then someone else asked me to do something for a celebration of life—next thing I knew, I was doing business lunches and more catering and I had a business.

What do you like most about your job?

I love seeing people eating my food and enjoying the food. One of the most rewarding things is if you're catering for 100 to 200 people and everyone has come up to get their food and then the whole room is quiet. Do you know what that means? They are eating and absolutely enjoying their food.

What was your very first job?

I'm from Edmonton and so it was working at Willie Woozle, a food kiosk in a mall.

What is your number 1 passion outside of work?

I love to travel. I just got back from Bali and previously I've been to the Cook Islands, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico and other places.

What's some advice you would give to your younger self?

It's hard work. Be prepared to work long hours—and also, love what you do. If you love what you do, it comes through in your work.
