A venue for adventure
Rossland invites you to experience a range of attractions
Rossland has tons of action, indoors and out. From historical entertainment to outdoor attractions, this town has it all.
Woodland wonders
For some serious outdoor fun, plan to visit one of the nearby parks or trails. Nancy Greene Provincial Park is situated in the Monashee Mountains, and has a lake with a sandy beach where you might even hook a trout. There is also a hiking trail and a campground where you and your family can picnic, roast marshmallows at the firepits or play on the adventure playground.
For a road less travelled, try the serene multi-use trail at Deer Park Mountain. This route is accessed from Drake’s Road (past the Drake’s Trail access point), and will take you gradually upwards through cedar forests to the summit, where you can get a stunning view of Rossland. Ask the local chamber for directions, as this trail is not labelled on all maps.
If you’re up for a challenge, Seven Summits Ridge Trail is a more rigorous recreational area for hiking, horseback riding or mountain biking.
Cultural cachet
The arts and culture sector of Rossland is alive and kicking. There are frequent festivals and live theatrical productions, as well as concerts by popular musical artists.
This mining community pays homage to its colourful heritage. Throughout the summer months, the Gold Fever Follies cancan dancers perform their vivacious numbers to thrilled audiences at the Old Miner’s Hall. Gold mine tours and programs at the Rossland Mining Museum are also available to teach visitors about the town’s history.
