Amazing snow isn’t unusual for Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) but, even when this is taken into consideration, the recent season has been exceptional for the ski hill.

“Strong early snowfall and consistent powder dumps throughout the season have made this one of our strongest seasons for snow conditions so far,” said Sarah Windsor, the resort's marketing and communications co-ordinator.

Another positive aspect of the 2011-2012 season has been the introduction of many new features to the resort. There seems to have been a focus this season on providing particularly family-friendly resources. A key development has been the Turtle Creek Beginner Area and Tube Park. A new magic carpet provides access to both, and the tube park offers evening operations. This has been a very positive addition, especially for families, and has made the base of the hill a more lively place.

Another new feature that caters to youngsters is the Kids’ Revelstoke Outdoors Centre. This area is located near the Turtle Creek Beginner Area and offers easy dropoff and pickup for small snow school participants. This season, children have enjoyed the ball pit, mini climbing wall and fun planned activities.

Other new amenities in the RMR village include an outdoor pool and additional hot tubs at Sutton Place. Also, more than 100 new rooms have been opened in Phase 3. Dining options are also increasing with a new wine bar, Wino, and an expansion by La Baguette.

Following only its fifth season, RMR is finding that the news is out about this fantastic resort and high-quality snow. Consequently, RMR is receiving an increased number of guests and looks forward to continuing to offer quality skiing and a high level of service in upcoming years.

“It seems we have hit a rhythm with the experience we offer,” said Windsor. “We have grown in all aspects of service from our initial opening in 2007, and we are adapting well to the change in demand and the needs of our guests. It’s an exciting time for us in that we are looking forward to our next steps as we continue to mature and grow.”
