Building Marysville Views

The building lots on the first phase of Marysville Views are serviced and available for sale

First-time property developer Kevin Amy lived in Calgary, Alberta, for 20 years before returning to live in his home town of Kimberley, B.C. He had studied petroleum technology at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology), and he continues to have a career in the petroleum industry.

Amy has another project on the go: a 20-acre piece of property that he bought in 1995 as a retirement investment. He’s now in the process of developing the property and has 14 building lots—the first phase of the Marysville Views subdivision—available for sale.

“The first five buyers will get a deal,” Amy said.

The parcel is situated at the end of 308th Street in sunny Marysville, just a few  minutes south of Kimberley. The property is bounded by the escarpments of Mark Creek to the west and the St. Mary River to the south, and by Marysville proper to the east and north.

“The building lots have great views,” Amy said, “and the development is in a prime location. It’s just 20 minutes from the international airport and shopping in Cranbrook, there is an elementary school within walking distance and you can get to a whole lot of amazing recreational options within minutes.”

The development will be done in three phases and will encompass 47 building lots in all. Amy said that some will hold multi-family units, and he speculated that a seniors residence might be part of the eventual configuration.

With the first phase ready, Amy is optimistic that the improved housing market will allow his retirement dream to support the dreams of families, active retirees and those who love the beauty and lifestyle of the East Kootenay.

“Marysville is a beautiful spot," Amy said. "It's in a popular region that's a springboard to Alberta, the U.S.A., the Coast and other hot spots in the Kootenays and the Okanagan. I want this development to be an asset to the community.”
