Nancy Kettering, the owner of the new Hot Tub Hut in Fernie, is differentiating her business by offering green and energy-efficient hot tubs and a healthier, natural water-care system.

A massage and yoga therapist for over a decade, Kettering feels that hot tubs can play a role in a person’s health and wellness.

“In yoga therapy you are dealing with people who have been in car accidents or have different ailments,” said Kettering. "The heat therapy and massage therapy you get from being in hot tubs—I definitely recommended (it)."

Kettering did her research and found the Bullfrog brand offered a product that was energy-efficient, was made from 25 per cent recycled materials and featured a new JetPak technology that recycles the heat. The Hot Tub Hut was in business and opened in early June 2011.

With the EcoLogo certified Dazzle water-care systems, Kettering feels she has a winning combination. The Hot Tub Hut also provides free water testing and will service hot tubs regardless of the brand.
