Peacock Hospitality is proud to announce its plans to expand the Fernie Fox Hotel with the addition of 50 new 1 and 2-bedroom suites, mid-sized meeting space, and enhanced guest amenities. This expansion project is a continuation of the company’s efforts to provide the highest level of guest experience, to increase the sustainability of the hotel (both socio-economically and ecologically), and to attract more visitors and investment to the local community. The development will elevate the guest experience in Fernie, offering mountain-modern suites to travellers visiting from around the world, while prioritizing sustainability, accessibility, and local community investment.

This exciting, fully-funded project will incorporate a strong focus on eco-friendly building design, and sustainably sourced materials. The expansion helps build upon Peacock Hospitality’s goal of operating the most sustainable hotel property in British Columbia. Design choices, material selection, and construction techniques will prioritize long-term sustainability and optimize life cycle costs. These priorities reinforce the company’s commitment to supporting the region’s economy, preserving the natural beauty that draws visitors to Fernie, and creating a vibrant and livable community for locals to prosper.

A boost for the community

As a locally-owned and operated business, Peacock Hospitality lives, works, and plays in the Fernie community. Revenues from the expansion will enable the company to increase it’s support and enrichment of Fernie’s vibrant local culture and community groups.

“We’re thrilled to enhance the Fernie Fox Hotel experience while staying true to our core values of sustainability and community support,” said Jeremiah Pauw, CEO of Peacock Hospitality. “This project reflects a commitment to creating economic opportunities locally and protecting the environment for generations to come. We invite the community to join us on this exciting new adventure, as we strive to develop something the community can be proud of.”

Upscale and comfortable

The new suites are designed with discerning travellers in mind, offering premium accommodations while remaining in harmony with the community and its surroundings. Guests can look forward to an upscale stay emphasizing comfort, accessibility, thoughtful design, and sustainable practices.

Located just minutes from the renowned Fernie Alpine Resort, and in the heart of the Elk Valley on Highway 3, the Fernie Fox Hotel has long been a gateway for adventurers, leisure travellers, and corporate clients alike. With the addition of these luxury suites, it aims to further its reputation as a destination that pairs exceptional hospitality with a deep respect for its community and environment.

Design finalization and site prep work are currently in progress, while construction is slated to begin Spring 2026.
