The Peacock Hospitality (parent company of the Fernie Fox Hotel) has demonstrated it’s ongoing commitment to the Fernie community, with a $5000 grant to the Wednesday Social Summer Concert Series. The grant goes bi-annually to a community organization or individual that creates community value and makes Fernie an amazing place to live. Since 2020, Peacock Hospitality has donated and sponsored local groups and individuals with over $85,000 of direct funding.

“We are thrilled to receive this donation and the ongoing support of the Wednesday Social series,” says Louise Ferguson, Fernie and District Arts Council Executive Director. “The money will be used to offset the costs associated with event, ensuring we are able to continue to deliver this free, community-focused event for locals and visitors to enjoy.”

Says Jeremiah Pauw, owner of the Fernie Fox Hotel, “The Wednesday Socials have become such an integral component of the Fernie community fabric, that supporting this event is a no-brainer.”

The Wednesday Social Summer Concert Series is now in its 15th year. Passionate about music, a group of local individuals came together to start the Wednesday Concert Series to provide accessible, diverse, free music for everyone.

As the event has grown, it came under the care of the Arts Station to help manage and steward it for the community’s benefit. The Series takes place every Wednesday in July and August, starting at 5:30pm in Station Square. A beverage garden, food trucks, kids craft tent, and a variety of local vendors are on site.
