Sparwood: Who’s who in Business
Sparwood prides itself on being a working community that values its families and enjoys its natural resources.
In the 1960s, five coal-mining communities in southeastern B.C. were merged to form the District of Sparwood. The name reflects the area's early economic roots, as local timber was harvested for ship masts. Today, Sparwood remains a resource-driven community that prioritizes both industry and quality of life, balancing economic growth with access to outdoor recreation.
