Sparwood: Who’s who in Business
Sparwood prides itself on being a working community that values its families and enjoys its natural resources.
During the 1960's, five coal-mining communities in southeastern B.C. were consolidated into one district, called Sparwood. The name honours the original economic drivers of the area, the trees that were harvested for use as masts on ships. Now, Sparwood prides itself on being a working community that values its families and enjoys its natural resources, for both their economic rewards and their recreational pleasures.
