Netta Zeberoff dreamed about working at the Doukhobor Discovery Centre since she was a child, so she put all of her energy into studying the Doukhobors. Zeberoff was thrilled, therefore, when she landed the job of curator of the centre in November 2010.

Opening day 2012

Zeberoff is looking forward to the opening of the Doukhobor Discovery Centre in April, which will be Sunday, April 29 beginning at noon.

“Everyone is invited to our opening celebration," said Zeberoff. "It is a day with a blessing for good health and prosperity, a (vegetarian) potluck luncheon, singing and special guests.”

Doukhobor writing contest

Zeberoff is both a dedicated student and a teacher, and she is pushing for some new initiatives at the museum. This includes a writing contest for people of all ages.

“The submissions may be a story, poetry or a play,” said Zeberoff. “The only restriction is that it needs to have a Doukhobor component. It can take place prior to the immigration to Canada or after, and the timelines of the story need to fit.”

For more information email Zeberoff or call 250-365-5327 or 250-608-2858.
