The Castlegar and District Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its 2023 Business Awards at the Castlegar and District Community Complex. This annual event, known for its high attendance, operates on a nomination and voting system and also serves as a crucial fundraiser for the chamber.

Young Entrepreneur Award: Hedin Nelson-Chorney and Marty Lutsy (Tailout Brewing)

Community Social Award: SPCA

Home Based Business Award: Into the Wild off Leash Adventures and Train with Solly

Restaurant of the Year: Tacos El Gringo

Manager of the Year: Barry Moore of Kootenay Market

Innovator of the Year Award: Kalesnikoff Mass Timber

Additionally, two special awards, not determined by popular vote, were presented to Mercer Celgar in the Lifetime Achievement category and the Kalawsky Auto Group for the Board of Directors Choice Award.
