JMK Custom Kitchens and Woodworking celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

Fay Krajnc uprooted her family in 1992. She wanted to raise her family in a close-knit community, so she moved to Castlegar and hasn’t looked back. The children are grown, the business is thriving and Krajnc is happy in her home.

“Our official date of incorporation is February 1, 1992,” said Krajnc. “We had our first open house in May 1992 before the long weekend, (and) we want to have an open house again in either April or May of this year to celebrate our 20th year in business.”

JMK Custom Kitchens and Woodworking will be entering its 21st year in business, and the staff are pleased to see previous clients again and to welcome new faces at the open house. The company builds kitchen and vanity cabinets, and makes custom designs—mantels, desks, entertainment centres and wall units.

“We are located 14 minutes from Castlegar,” said Krajnc, “one block off of the highway in the Thrums and Tarrys area on 2043 Loff Road. We have an Adopt-a-Highway sign on Highway 3 at the Tarrys Road entrance.”

Krajnc will be posting updates on the anniversary event soon; please check the website for details.
