Wycliffe’s Tyler Beckley appointed to Destination BC’s Tourism Marketing Committee

Tourism industry representatives have now been selected to serve on Destination British Columbia's Tourism Marketing Committee to replace outgoing members. Two current members, Patrick Corbett, representing the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast and Angela Rafuse-Tahir from Vancouver Island, will continue for a second term. The new members are:

  • Tyler Beckley, Owner/General Manager, Three Bars Guest Ranch (Kootenay Rockies)
  • Ty Speer, CEO, Tourism Vancouver (Vancouver, Coast & Mountains)
  • Michael J. Ballingall, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing, Big White Ski Resort (Thompson Okanagan)
  • Mike Randall, Marketing Director, Langara Fishing & Wildlife Lodge (Northern BC)
  • Brenda Baptiste, Board Chair and Interim CEO, Aboriginal Tourism BC (provincial representative)
  • Anne Murray, Vice President, Marketing & Communications, Vancouver Airport Authority (member at large)

Tyler Beckley, along with his family, has been operating the Three Bars Guest Ranch, In Wycliffe for over 20 years. Three Bars has been recognized as one of the top properties of its kind in the world. Tyler is currently serving as Vice President for Kootenay Rockies Tourism. For six years Tyler served as President of the BC Guest Ranch Association, working in conjunction with Destination BC to bring BC ranches to the world. As an owner/operator, Tyler brings a unique perspective to marketing a BC property.

The Tourism Marketing Committee provides strategic advice to the Destination British Columbia Board and CEO related to:

  • Marketing strategies for the organization;
  • Performance metrics to track the success of the organization’s tourism marketing activities, and the performance of the tourism sector; and
  • Ways to use Destination British Columbia funds to leverage private and public sector tourism marketing funds.

Kathy Cooper, CEO of Kootenay Rockies and Tom Tischik, of the Revelstoke Accommodators Association and Chair of Kootenay Rockies are also members of the marketing committee.
