Urban Settler now located in downtown Fernie
One of Fernie's most distinctive heritage buildings, the old Fernie Livery and Transfer Co, now houses the furniture store.
The upscale vintage furniture, furnishing and decor store, Urban Settler, in Fernie has re-located downtown, as of late fall 2015. One of Fernie's most distinctive heritage buildings, the old Fernie Livery and Transfer Co, now houses the furniture store.
According to their website, "The Urban Settler...flagship retail store is located in the historic Livery Building, which was built in 1908 using stones picked from the bank of the majestic Elk River. It was originally built for the Fernie Livery, Dray and Transfer Company, delivering milk, feed, coal and other goods around the area using horse and wagon. The building is truly part of Fernie’s history and community and is the perfect home for The Urban Settler. Our store focuses on home furnishings, decor, and interior design services. We feature our own handcrafted reclaimed wood and custom solid wood furniture, including: custom reclaimed wood dining tables, reclaimed wood coffee tables, reclaimed wood beds and bedroom furniture, reclaimed wood feature wall cladding and flooring, reclaimed wood side tables, book shelves, buffets, sideboards, chest of drawers, benches, and custom made Barn Doors. To complement our handcrafted wood furniture, we have procured a selection of quality furnishings and décor accessories to complete your home: Canadian made sofas, sectionals, and upholstered chairs, upholstered beds and headboards, dining chairs, bar stools, mirrors, blankets, throws, accent pillows, vintage décor, rugs, table linens, blinds and window coverings, bedding, and mattresses, all offered with friendly small town service, and helpful interior decorating advice."
The Urban Settler is owned and operated by Paul Arcoite. It is a one-stop shop for custom wood furniture, reclaimed materials, sofas, bedding, stunning home decor and one of a kind vintage finds.
