Tom Lymbery’s popular book almost sold out
Successful author is another feather Tom Lymbery can add to his cap. Longtime owner and operator of the historic Gray Creek Store at Gray Creek, Tom now well into his eighties is celebrating the success of his recently published book, Tom's Gray Creek—A Kootenay Lake Memoir.
The Gray Creek Store was established in 1913 and celebrated its 100th Anniversary last year. Though Tom stops by the store regularly, he has mainly handed over the day-to-day operations to his family members.
Tom's Gray Creek—A Kootenay Lake Memoir is a delightful book to read packed with historical photos and interesting accounts that remember a bygone era. The book's initial print run of 1,000 copies is almost sold out and Tom is already looking at a re-print of the popular book. Plus there is part two of the Tom's Gray Creek which is still in production and should be published in the winter or spring of 2015.
Kootenay Lake resident Warren Clark has formatted and designed both books. Tom's Gray Creek—A Kootenay Lake Memoir is available for sale at book stores throughout the Kootenays and, of course, at the Gray Creek Store itself.
On a recent visit to Gray Creek I had to interrupt Tom from his wood splitting duties to come and personally sign his book for me. So at 86 there are no signs of Tom Lymbery slowing down or ceasing to promote the Eastshore of Kootenay Lake.
