What might be the Kootenay's smallest Barbershop has opened in Creston. The eye-catching new shop is owned and operated by Doran Amatto.

"I opened my little shop a couple of months ago in downtown Creston. When I first opened the doors I didn't know what to expect. Then my first customer showed up and they haven't stopped coming since," said Doran Amatto. "People like the unique nature of my shop and its convenient location."

Doran Amatto originally hails from Nelson, where his father was a barber for many years. What's so unique about this barbershop?

It is housed in a cozy 16 X 8 foot travel trailer and located in the parking lot of Classic Glass and Trim just off of Creston's busy main Canyon street.

Amatto affectionately calls his shop a Barber Saloon, which sports a single barber's chair, a veranda complete with a comfortable wooden chair, attractive wood siding and, of course, a distinctive red and white barber's pole.

Next time you are in Creston stop by for a trim or a chat at the Kootenay's smallest barbershop.
